2 weeks and counting...

Today marks 16 days since our son was born.  It has been a great 16 days so far!  Asher is growing and growing fast.  It's unbelievable how fast little ones grow.  And I think with a second baby it goes by even faster.  With your first you have time to sit and watch and observe every sneeze and every sleeping moment.  A second baby has competition with an older sibling and I am amazed at how fast days go by.  Asher had his two week check up on Friday and he weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs 11 oz.  He has gained almost a pound on his discharge weight.

We've had a few glitches in the last couple of weeks, specifically feeding issues.  Our experiences with feeding Asher have almost mirrored the experiences we had when Leah was first born.  I've come to realize that all my babies have an extremely sensitive tummy to my breast milk.  It got to the point where he was barely sleeping, pooping every 20 minutes and in pain.  After a lot of thoughts and tears we made the decision to switch to formula and a special formula for babies with sensitive tummies.  Asher has been such a different child since we made the switch.  In fact last night he slept for 5 hours straight!!  All in all, he has been such a blessing to our little family so far and he for the most is an easy little baby.  He readily gives us sleepy smiles which are just so cute!  Here's an updated picture of our little guy!
